Answer by Computer Guy To put it simply, your collection is worth whatever someone will give you for it. There is some lower limit, just because there are precious metals involved.
Gold is currently worth 0/troy ounce. Your 5 dollar gold piece is worth over 0 just for the gold content. Hint: gold prices are expected to continue to rise due to inflation.
Your "silver" coins are not all pure silver. depending on the year and denomination, they may be 90% or even 75% silver. Silver is worth roughly /troy ounce.
The other things are of interest only to collectors, so I cannot estimate their value. You could look at similar offerings on E-bay or visit a coin shop.

Collecting be as risky as the Stock Trade,..ever reviewed the collectors registry,.on which coins
are in demand,..and, how much the seller could get,..It be a crap shoot,..
If the seller's got the coins buyers are looking for and, would pay a pretty penny to get,..Like: "WOW,.?!! Four or five coins of the very ones in demand,.? One could cash in,..
Meanwhile,..many collectors would sell from their collection,..and, jockey to find those sold,.in a cheap market,.Then, buy for a rediculously low price,.You get my drift,..The draw back exists
in the swap off,.a seller sells from his collection,..to fill the quotas,.And, when the fake quota be met,..Suddenly, those coins,.value drops,..dramatically,..Now,..how much can the collecting enthuaist(sp) get for the formerly very valuable coins,..You get my drift,.?!"

Question by Jessicka: How do I know how much my COIN is worth?
It's a painted 2000 millennium silver eagle thats sealed in an original packaging, it's like in a card, with a sleeve. It explaines the weight and content and history. What is the difference between 'proof' and 'uncirculated'.. what else do I need to know?
Best answer:
Answer by Taiping If the coin has been painted it is considered damaged by coin collectors. As it is now it is just a memento of the millennium. It still has its silver value and is worth at least what an ounce of silver is selling for on the day it is sold. Colored as well as gold plated coins make an interesting gift but have no collector value. The only way to get a value is to put it on a on line auction or see what someone would offer. I saw a colored set of state quarters, well up to the last one in a nice wood frame and it was impressive and would make a good item to pass down in the family but it has little collector value at least yet. Maybe in 100 years who knows. I would just keep it for now.

Question by vanbadiwal: What is a one ounce proof silver bullion American Eagle worth? I have 1986 and 1987 coins.?
Best answer:
Answer by greg b Silver is at 20.10 an ounce
The Silver eagle market is around 22$ for a regular date - so thats the bear minimum.
All silver eagles are uncirculated so quality is prob not an issue for you, if they are still in their original case from the mint they are probably ms 67- to ms 69.
Both of your coins are around -40.
Hold onto them, silver will probably increase even more as the economy slumps.

Question by Julie: what is an American Eagle silver dollar coin worth?
It's A 1903 American Eagle fine silver dollar. With a walking liberty and a sun on the bottom. The eagle on the back has open wings and 13 stars above its head and below the tailfeather on the right hand side it appears to have an "m"
Well then maybe it's a fake then, because it clearly says 1903 I can even take a picture of it but can't post it on here

Question by Vader: If economy crashes, will a 1 ounce 2004 American Eagle coin be worth having, or should I sell it on ebay now?
I am talking about an all out crash, where we have to barter to survive.
Best answer:
Answer by likepepsi If we end up in a situation where bartering is the key to survival, there won't be much use for gold or silver. What will have value is guns, ammunition, water, food, and fuel. The very concept of barter implies that money (or precious metals) won't be used.
However, the chance of that kind of thing happening is very, very, small. I think what is more likely is the the US will suffer inflation and in that case precious metals will rise in value, so I would hold on to it.
