Question by Alan R: Where can I buy an official blue satin lined presentation case for an American Eagle silver dollar?
I bought the coin off ebay but it did not come with a presentation case, and the mint doesn't seem to offer those for sale separately. If I can't get an official case, what are my alternatives? This is for my second son, and I'd really like them both to have the same type of case.

Answer by BD in NM You could do a search for numismatic supplies. One site that has a lot of supplies is Amos Advantage. Maybe you could buy two boxes from the same source that way they would both be the same.
Happy hunting

Question by monkey d: 2007 American Eagle Silver Coin?
Should I buy the uncirculated version from the mint, the uncirculated version from somewhere else, or the proof version from the mint or somewhere else. Also, which (meaning proof or uncirculated) will most likely be worth more in 20 years?

Question by Dylan: Investing in Silver??
I currently have 11 ounces of silver (kook, 3 maples, 7 silver eagles). I am low income, being 16 and looking for a job, and would like to take advantage of the low silver prices. SO--tubes of rounds or bars?? What is best. I am thinking about buying tubes of ase's, but they are overpriced. Is there less security when buying from private mints or foreign countries?? Thanks.
Thank you Emily for that...wonderful...pie of information that was completely invaluable and irrelevant. If aloof, don't answer.

Answer by alcan52 Silver bullion coins are the best here is why. With coins they do not have to be assyed when you sell them as the are reconized as real silver. The coins also serve another purpose....MONEY. Silver and gold are the only Constitutional forms of money. I just bought 100 Canada Silver Maple Leaf Bullion coins on Monday. Im getting the Canada coins for a few reasons. I live in Alaska and we are not connected to the US so Canada would be our lifline in the economic depression that is right around the corner. The US dollar is at par with the Canada Dollar and the Canada dollar will soon be more valuable as time goes on. Canada has reduced their national debt and therefore the face value of the coin in Canada dollars will be worth more in relation to the US Dollar. The Canada Silver is the purest in the world. And it has the highest dollar denomination for its face value on the coin. I wouldnt buy anything but the Canada Silver Maple Leaf coins. Silver is at historic lows and is expected to rise in the near future.

Question by tcrobb1: How I do tell if my 1974-S proof brown box Ike $ is clad or silver?
I think as a kid I pd like in 1980. I wasn't aware that there were more than one version of the 74-S proof coin. I bought it at a coin show, so it wasn't like I was being swindled as the price was marked in an open display case. Are there any indicators to tell the difference between a silver version & the clad one? The silver one commands a high price (00?), the clad I can get on ebay for . So either I overpaid, the market stinks, or I bought a really good investment. Please help!
Best answer:
Answer by the cumshot kid if it's clad it's not worth anything... it's like gold leaf except in silver and around the entire coin

Question by Kevin Overlund: 2007 American Silver Eagle (Z7F). Can someone tell me about this coin? Also, what does the Z7F mean?
2007 US Silver Eagle West Point Coin Mint Z7F. I know a tiny bit about coins but apparently not enough.
Best answer:
Answer by liberty 911 A 2007-W American Eagle 1oz uncirculated silver coin is a bullion coin manufactured in West Point, New York by the US Mint. Apparently, the Z7F is a code used by the Mint to differentiate if from the many other products offered by the Mint. They are selling for around US right now unless they are slabbed and certified which would make them worth more. There is more information at the link below. I hope that helps.

Question by sgtnight2000: silver coin and proof set's collector?

Answer by curtisports2 The only advice I can give you on what to collect is to buy what you like. After a while, like all of us, you'll figure out for yourself what you like more than something else, and you'll focus on that one (or a few) things at a time. The reason is that none of us can afford to buy all of it, so we have to narrow it down. But it's different for all of us, what we like, so I can't tell you what to collect.
I can tell you, though, that you probably overpaid for a 2010 silver eagle graded MS-64. If you paid more than , you paid too much. You can buy single coins on eBay, including postage, for about that. Yes, yours is graded by PCGS. Whoever had it graded wasted their money. MS 64 for a brand new coin is basically a problem coin when you consider that huge numbers of them are coming out MS 69, and even perfect MS 70 are nowhere near rare anymore with the last few years of bullion eagles.
That's the only other thing I'll recommend. If you're going to buy slabbed modern coins, don't buy anything below MS 69 or Proof 69 DCAM.
