Question by Nate: American Eagle Coin?
What is the difference between a American Eagle Silver Dollar Coin PROOF and a American Eagle Silver Dollar Coin Regular issue Uncirculated

Best answer:

Answer by zman492
Uncirculated
The word "uncirculated" means exactly what it says, the coin has not been in circulation, however "ordinary" uncirculated coins often have bagmarks, edge knocks and other small scuffs and imperfections. Uncirculated "specimen" coins issued specially for collectors are often more carefully produced and handled, so they may be better than ordinary coins mass produced for circulation, but may still have some small imperfections.

Proof
Proof coins are specially produced to a much higher standard of finish. Originally, proofs were intended as pre-production samples. As a printer would produce a small number of "proof" copies for checking and approval, so a mint would produce proofs for approval by the mintmaster, the monarch, and for other purposes. When coin collecting began to become popular about two centuries ago, a larger number of proofs were sometimes made for sale to collectors. This has developed enormously in the past few decades, and most countries, but not all, produce proof coin and sets every year or on special occasions.

Question by Kevin Overlund: 2007 American Silver Eagle (Z7F). Can someone tell me about this coin? Also, what does the Z7F mean?
2007 US Silver Eagle West Point Coin Mint Z7F. I know a tiny bit about coins but apparently not enough.

Best answer:

Answer by liberty 911
A 2007-W American Eagle 1oz uncirculated silver coin is a bullion coin manufactured in West Point, New York by the US Mint. Apparently, the Z7F is a code used by the Mint to differentiate if from the many other products offered by the Mint. They are selling for around US right now unless they are slabbed and certified which would make them worth more. There is more information at the link below. I hope that helps.

Question by Hermoderus: Coin/COA Mismatch in 1 oz American Eagle?
I have been contemplating the sale of a American Eagle Proof given to me as a gift many years ago, and in examining the contents of the case more closely, I've noticed that while both the spine of the case and the coin itself read '1987' (MCMLXXXVII) the COA reads 1986. How unusual is this? Will it cause any difficulties at sale?

Best answer:

Answer by Taiping
It may and it may not. I can not find anything about this problem. Someone may have had both eagles and mixed up the COA's. In the long run it should not matter for you are selling a coin not the COA. In the end you can always have it graded by one of the grading services and throw the COA away.

Question by Nate: American Eagle Coins?
What is the difference between a American Eagle Silver Dollar Coin PROOF and a American Eagle Silver Dollar Coin Regular issue Uncirculated

2004

Best answer:

Answer by bbooptoon1959
the method of manufactor. Proof coins have the blanks and the dies highly polished before striking. When struck, this creates a highly reflective piece. The coin is then sandblasted on the high points creating a contrast with a frosted finish. The uncirculated is simply struck without polishing, and the burnished has some kind of matte-like finish. Proofs are generally more expensive

Question by vanbadiwal: What is a one ounce proof silver bullion American Eagle worth? I have 1986 and 1987 coins.?

Best answer:

Answer by greg b
Silver is at 20.10 an ounce

The Silver eagle market is around 22$ for a regular date - so thats the bear minimum.

All silver eagles are uncirculated so quality is prob not an issue for you, if they are still in their original case from the mint they are probably ms 67- to ms 69.

Both of your coins are around -40.

Hold onto them, silver will probably increase even more as the economy slumps.

Question by Julie: what is an American Eagle silver dollar coin worth?
It's A 1903 American Eagle fine silver dollar. With a walking liberty and a sun on the bottom. The eagle on the back has open wings and 13 stars above its head and below the tailfeather on the right hand side it appears to have an "m"
Well then maybe it's a fake then, because it clearly says 1903 I can even take a picture of it but can't post it on here
