It's a painted 2000 millennium silver eagle thats sealed in an original packaging, it's like in a card, with a sleeve. It explaines the weight and content and history. What is the difference between 'proof' and 'uncirculated'.. what else do I need to know?

If the coin has been painted it is considered damaged by coin collectors. As it is now it is just a memento of the millennium. It still has its silver value and is worth at least what an ounce of silver is selling for on the day it is sold. Colored as well as gold plated coins make an interesting gift but have no collector value. The only way to get a value is to put it on a on line auction or see what someone would offer. I saw a colored set of state quarters, well up to the last one in a nice wood frame and it was impressive and would make a good item to pass down in the family but it has little collector value at least yet. Maybe in 100 years who knows. I would just keep it for now.

Question by Bobby: Why shouldn't I clean my coins? What will happen if I do or don't clean them? My Silver Eagles are tarnished!?
I have 10 American Silver Eagle coins from the years 2000-2005 and they all have varying degrees or tarnish on them. Some of them are perfect on the "face", but the back side is black!! I KNOW EVERYONE SAYS YOU SHOULDN'T CLEAN COINS, but I would like a more detailed explanation as to why I shouldn't remove the tarnish.
1) Why shouldn't I just clean them? I was thinking some tarnish remover would do the job, just a dip in some.
2) If I continue to let them tarnish, will they always look black and oddly colored, or will they go back to looking normal over time?
3) This is the most important question I have: How can I keep any new coins I add to my collection from tarnishing and/or oxidizing? Will air tight holders do the job?
I'm not asking to be a smartbleep, I just want answers! Detailed answers! Thanks for helping, should you choose to.

Silver is at 20.10 an ounce
The Silver eagle market is around 22$ for a regular date - so thats the bear minimum.
All silver eagles are uncirculated so quality is prob not an issue for you, if they are still in their original case from the mint they are probably ms 67- to ms 69.
Both of your coins are around -40.
Hold onto them, silver will probably increase even more as the economy slumps.

It's A 1903 American Eagle fine silver dollar. With a walking liberty and a sun on the bottom. The eagle on the back has open wings and 13 stars above its head and below the tailfeather on the right hand side it appears to have an "m"

I live with my best friend and he know that I collect older silver coins and American Silver Eagles dollar coins. Well he went out and bought me alot of silver old PCGS graded coins and 15 proof American Silver Eagles. My silver eagle proof set (1986-now) is now up to date thanks to him and I have a few doubles. He also told me that he have a coin that i've been wanting for a long time that hit him up hard in the pocket but I have to wait until Christmas. He has spent alot on me so far and bought me some really nice coins. I went out yesterday and bought him a friendship platinum ring that was ,350 and I had his name added on it on the front. Should I give it to him today or wait until Christmas?
this is my childhood friend so I think this will mean alot to him. We've been friends since we was six and we are both 25 now.

Southgate mall in Canada or Michigan? .95 + .48=52.43 plus tax. Tax in Mi. is 6%. add another .14 = .57

Basic way of making money:
Buy low, sell high.
Look at the current cost of gold and silver and compare it to the last 50 years. Is it low right now? If you're buying "high" then it's not a good investment.
